(NADS) - On October 15, in Hanoi , the Vietnam Writers Association held a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of literature with the Pakistan Academy of Literature.
The signing ceremony was attended by Ambassadors of the following countries in Vietnam: the State of Palestine, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Turkey, and the Republic of South Africa, demonstrating the interest of many countries in cooperating in the field of literature with Vietnam.
On the side of the leadership of the Vietnam Writers Association, there was poet Nguyen Quang Thieu - Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association, along with writers and poets in the Executive Committee and representatives of the Association's professional councils. Along with that, traditional partners and expanding cooperative and friendly relations with new partners were the unified policies from the beginning of the term of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Writers Association, term 10.
Some of the main activities that the Vietnam Literature Association and the Pakistan Literature Institute will carry out after signing the cooperation agreement include: Coordinating the organization of book fairs in each country; organizing conferences, seminars, and research on topics of mutual interest in the field of literature; translating and publishing literary works; posting poems and other literary works on the official websites of both sides; organizing training courses for writers, poets and intellectuals; awarding literary awards; coordinating the organization of mutual visits by writers, poets, intellectuals, scientists in the social field and scholars of the two countries; other activities to enhance cooperation in the fields of literature, culture and creation...
"After signing, our minds opened and our hearts opened. I was very moved when signing this document, a document of conscience, of aspiration. While in the world, there are still places where war is taking place. So many people from children to adults have shed blood, sacrificed themselves. Vietnamese writers hope that all good things will come to everyone around the world, there will be no more tears and bloodshed." - Poet Nguyen Quang Thieu emotionally shared his thoughts after signing the memorandum of understanding.
Also at the signing ceremony, the Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association presented the Embassy of Pakistan and the Pakistan Institute of Literature with two books "Mountains and Rivers on Shoulders". and "Aspiration for Peace" in Anthology of poems by Vietnamese poets, English version.
Ambassador Kohdayar Marri presented the Vietnam Writers Association with two books "Igbal Poetry" and "Identity and Culture" of famous Pakistani writers and poets.
