Launching ceremony in response to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025

Attending the launching ceremony were comrades: Tong Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Duc Duc - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee. The fourth Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025 with the messages: "Reading culture - Connecting the community", "Entering the era of national growth with books", "Reading books - enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity", focusing on activities such as: regular propaganda in the community and organizing a peak period from April 15 to May 2, 2025; creative propaganda on social networks and digital platforms about "How do books change you?"; sharing photos/ videos about a book that inspires creativity...

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Comrade Tong Thanh Hai - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee reviewed the significance of Vietnam Book Day on April 21. He affirmed that no matter how much information technology develops, the value of books will remain eternal, because books are not only a means of containing knowledge, but also a "tonic" for the soul, a mirror reflecting human personality. Reading culture is not only a personal habit, but also the foundation of a learning society, a sustainably developed country.

He suggested that agencies, units and localities continue to promote propaganda about the role of books and reading culture; organize and implement activities in response to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025 at agencies, units, localities, and within the Youth Union system in the province with rich content to honor the value of books for the young generation. At the same time, call on organizations, units, businesses and individuals in the province to donate books to people in remote, isolated and extremely disadvantaged areas.

At the launching ceremony, poet Do Thi Tac, former President of the Lai Chau Provincial Literature and Arts Association, author of 20 works collecting and researching the folk culture of the province's ethnic groups, communicated about books, spread reading culture and talked and dialogued with students about how to spread love for books in the current digital age.

The leaders of the Department of Education and Training launched the Reading Culture Ambassador contest in 2025 and launched a campaign to donate and give books.

Also at the launching ceremony, the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025 was launched and book donations and gifts were launched. Awarding of the 7th "Drawing Pictures According to Books" Contest, 2025 with the theme: "Dreams through each page of a Book" chaired by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, launched from March 1 to March 30. Up to now, the Organizing Committee has received 2,000 entries from students from 132 schools, from primary to high school level in the province. Through judging, the Organizing Committee has awarded 138 individual prizes, 9 collective prizes, of which 3 collective first prizes belong to the following schools: Primary School No. 2, Tan Phong Secondary School (Lai Chau city), Le Quy Don Specialized High School.

With the desire to bring love and spread reading culture to students in the province, the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, and Provincial People's Council donated more than 400 books and stories to high schools in Lai Chau city.
