Launching ceremony of the book "The Quintessence of Vietnamese Revolution" by journalist Ha Dang

On the afternoon of June 5, at the headquarters of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the National Political Publishing House Truth, the Communist Magazine and the Vietnam Journalists Association solemnly held a launching ceremony for the book Quintessence of Vietnamese Revolution by veteran journalist Ha Dang.

The book "The Quintessence of the Vietnamese Revolution" was published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), the crystallization of nearly 80 years of journalism and dedication to ideological and theoretical work of veteran journalist Ha Dang - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Ideology and Culture Committee (now the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee), former Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine, and former assistant to General Secretary Le Duan and General Secretary Nong Duc Manh.

The book is nearly 800 pages thick, selecting 112 articles, research papers, and typical interviews of journalist Ha Dang from 1955 to the present. The book is divided into three parts. Part I is sharp political articles on the Party's policies and guidelines, and the State's policies and laws.

Part II is a series of special portraits of President Ho Chi Minh and outstanding leaders of the Vietnamese revolution through the vivid perspective of a person who served, worked, and was closely associated with the country's great figures during important moments in history. They are President Ho Chi Minh, President Ton Duc Thang, General Secretary Truong Chinh, General Secretary Le Duan, General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Pham Van Dong, Advisor at the Paris Conference Le Duc Tho, Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung...

Part III of the book is about the achievements in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, including 30 articles in many genres: reportage, essays, analysis, and thoughtful commentary, while expressing the author's thoughts on journalism and the fighting spirit of revolutionary journalism.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association , affirmed: “The book is the crystallization of the concerns, thoughts and aspirations of an intellectual - soldier, journalist - political activist throughout his life devoted to the revolution. The solid arguments and dialectical spirit of journalist Ha Dang are a valuable source of material for propaganda, journalism and political education cadres.”

Comrade Le Quoc Minh emphasized the role of journalist Ha Dang as a “fighting pen” for more than half a century, always loyal to the Party’s ideals, putting the interests of the nation and the people first. The journalist’s book has become a valuable document not only for researchers and journalists but also for many cadres, party members and those interested in the country’s development path.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, emphasized that the process of editing and publishing the book is a key task, closely coordinated by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the National Political Publishing House, meticulously carried out, ensuring high content, political value and modern, scientific presentation. The book is a valuable document for cadres, party members, journalists and readers nationwide in studying and researching revolutionary theory, practice and tradition.

Journalist Ha Dang emotionally shared at the launch ceremony of the book "The Quintessence of Vietnamese Revolution": "In this book, the most distant article I wrote was in 1955 when I was first assigned to work at Nhan Dan Newspaper in Hanoi, and the most recent article was in July 2024, published in Communist Magazine. At the age of 96, I have spent nearly 80 years writing many articles, although this is not exactly my official job, the journalism career I left behind is what I am most proud of and satisfied with...".

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee and Journalist Ha Dang also presented the book "Quintessence of Vietnamese Revolution" to representatives of the National Library of Vietnam, Hanoi Library, Academy of Journalism and Communication, and Vietnam Press Museum.

The book launch ceremony "The Quintessence of Vietnamese Revolution" is an occasion to pay tribute and honor the enduring and great contributions of a veteran journalist - who has dedicated his entire life to the revolutionary ideals and the cause of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.
