Recently, Lexus has officially confirmed the launch date of the TX. Accordingly, the 2024 Lexus TX crossover will officially launch on June 8, 2023. At the same time, Lexus also released some of the first images of the passenger compartment inside this new luxury crossover.
Through the teaser images provided, the interior of the Lexus TX 2024 is equipped with a 3-row seat configuration arranged in a 2+2+2 layout. The Lexus TX 2024 door panels will be equipped with the familiar Mark Levinson surround sound system.
In addition, the Lexus TX also has an e-Latch electronic door opening system. This is a new feature that was first introduced on the Lexus NX. According to Lexus, the e-Latch system comes with a button placed on the door panel and replaces the familiar door handle inside the car. To ensure safety, Lexus has linked the e-Latch with the Safe Exit Assist system to automatically prevent the door from opening when it detects a vehicle approaching from behind.
The steering wheel, screen and central control cluster design of the TX 2024 have not been revealed. However, according to some leaked sources, this SUV will be equipped with a 14-inch central touch screen similar to many models of the same brand.
Previously, the exterior design of the Lexus TX 2024 only revealed the upper half of the rear of the car. However, it can be seen that the car door design and the 'floating roof' effect using black painted D-pillars make the TX look different from the Toyota Grand Highlander model on which it is based. However, the taillights of the Lexus TX 2024 are not the same as the Toyota Grand Highlander. The taillights of this model are designed to penetrate deep into the sides and are reminiscent of the Toyota Fortuner currently sold in Vietnam.
In terms of powertrain, the Lexus TX is expected to be similar to the Toyota Grand Highlander. On the Toyota-branded model, the standard version uses a 2.4L, 4-cylinder engine with 265 horsepower. The hybrid version uses a 2.5L, 4-cylinder engine with 245 horsepower, combined with front-wheel or 4-wheel drive. The highest-end version has a 2.4L, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with 362 horsepower. After its launch, the 2024 Lexus TX will compete directly with the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
