VHO - Reflecting to Van Hoa, Ms. Tang Thi Huyen, Chief of Office of the Vietnam Badminton Federation, said that according to the reflection of many parents, some bad guys have impersonated the Federation's fanpage to commit fraud.
Immediately after learning about the fake fanpages impersonating the official page, on November 11, 2023, the Vietnam Badminton Federation posted a warning on the official fanpage with the following content: “Recently, the Vietnam Badminton Federation has received a lot of information from badminton fans asking about recruiting gifted classes from fake pages. Currently, the Vietnam Badminton Federation only has one Facebook page, the Vietnam Badminton Federation VBF (with a blue tick). Therefore, the Vietnam Badminton Federation would like to inform everyone to avoid being exploited.”
Vietnam Badminton Federation's fanpage posted a warning about a fake page that scammed many parents.
However, after the announcement was posted, this situation continued. Ms. Tang Thi Huyen said that in the past few days, the Federation has frequently received calls from parents of students reporting that they have been scammed by the Federation's fake fanpage. The scammers even forged the seal and signature of the Federation's General Secretary Le Thanh Ha to make fake certificates for students.
“The Vietnam Badminton Federation’s main task is to manage badminton activities. Currently, we have not opened any courses or institutes to train badminton talents, so we hope that parents will be wise when choosing a place to register their children. We also have the Federation’s phone number and address available. If there are any problems, parents can contact us to avoid being taken advantage of by scammers,” said Ms. Tang Thi Huyen, hoping that the press and everyone will share the announcement so that more people know about these fake fanpages and avoid being taken advantage of by scammers.
