Dance groups from universities in Ho Chi Minh City brought explosive, colorful and unique performances on the stage of the Semi-finals of Group C - Open Movement Group of DaLat Best Dance Crew 2025 - Hoa Sen Home International Cup taking place on March 9.
The Dalat Best Dance Crew 2025 – Hoa Sen Home International Cup program with the theme “Conquering the Universe of Dance” has just taken place in the semi-finals of Group C – Open Movement Group at Ton Duc Thang University. The judges are Mr. Tran Dinh Tai – Acting Deputy General Director of Hoa Sen Group , Ms. Tran Diep My Dung – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union – Chairman of the Council of Young Pioneers of Lam Dong province, Mr. Tran Dinh Phuong – Deputy General Director of Bee Communications Company (Bee Comm), choreographer SHI3CHAO.
In the Semi-finals of Group C – Open Movement Group, 8 teams brought vibrant performances of music and dance. The opening performance was by IU ARTEAM from International University, Ho Chi Minh City National University. The combination of music and dance was impressive. The extremely sharp movements were also the strong point of the team from International University.
Following the heat of IU ARTEAM was the extremely hot stage of BE DANCER from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education. The dance group expressed a free-spirited, youthful spirit with a strong street style.
Continuing the competition round, CUS CREW from Ho Chi Minh City University of Finance and Marketing swept the stage like a fire with red costumes. The dance performance combined trendy dance moves to stir up the atmosphere and received enthusiastic support from the entire audience. The 4th dance group competing in the semi-finals was CA CREW from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. The dance team also scored points when constantly changing formations.
Judge SHI3CHAO said that the first 4 teams had good choreography, highlighting the story theme in the dance, using trendy music. Each team had a unique personality. In particular, the male choreographer highly appreciated BE DANCER for incorporating the Breaking technique into the dance. However, he also said that the 4 teams needed to practice to improve their techniques further.
Next was the appearance of VORTEX DANCE CREW from the University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City. VORTEX DANCE CREW made a strong impression with a unique performance that conquered the audience with decisive and powerful movements, with the highlight being the stacking and juggling phases that required high techniques.
The whole auditorium exploded with the performance “Nguoi Viet” from REMIX ONE CREW (Ton Duc Thang University). From costumes to music, the team honored the spirit of pride in being Vietnamese. One of the performances that left a strong impression on the audience was the dance of THE GRAFTS (Hoa Sen University) from the way the team used props such as bamboo sticks, silk fans to traditional musical materials.
Finally, the performance of the JAEGER SQUAD team from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH). Wearing all white outfits, the team continuously made the audience admire their body flexibility through eye-catching dance moves.
Judge SHI3CHAO expressed his surprise at the professionalism and creativity of the students. He expressed his love for the style of the JAEGER SQUAD team, and highly appreciated THE GRAFTS team for choosing difficult music. The male dancer also commented that VORTEX DANCE CREW had good connection between members and beautiful acrobatic moves. SHI3CHAO added: “REMIX ONE CREW is a rare team that dances to Vietnamese music and does it very well.”
At the end of a day of exciting and intense competition, the JAEGER SQUAD team from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) won first prize in the Semi-finals of Group C - Open Movement Group of Dalat Best Dance Crew 2025 - Hoa Sen Home International Cup.
Sharing about this victory, JAEGER SQUAD revealed: “We feel happy and surprised to win today. Because every team had an explosive performance. Right after this victory, we will have to concentrate to prepare for the final round. Surely, JAEGER SQUAD will bring many surprises to the judges and the audience.”
The second prize went to THE GRAFTS of Hoa Sen University. And the three third prize winning teams of this round were VORTEX DANCE CREW (University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City), BE DANCER (University of Technical Education, Ho Chi Minh City) and REMIX ONE CREW (Ton Duc Thang University).
Sharing backstage, choreographer SHI3CHAO said he was impressed with the quality of this year's contestants. "You have spent a lot of time and effort investing in your performance, showing meticulousness and creativity. Although some teams have not been able to go further in the competition, what you have done is commendable. I hope that in the following seasons, you will continue to develop and achieve greater success," said the male choreographer.
Choreographer SHI3CHAO also said that he has followed Dalat Best Dance Crew – Hoa Sen Home International Cup for many seasons and has seen the care and investment of the Organizing Committee. This is truly a useful playground for young people who are passionate about dancing in Ho Chi Minh City and Lam Dong province. Moreover, the program is also a launching pad, helping them get closer to their dreams and opening up many development opportunities in the future.
Thus, the first 5 names that will participate in the Dalat Best Dance Crew 2025 Movement Board Finals - Hoa Sen Home International Cup taking place on April 29 at Lam Vien Square (Da Lat City - Lam Dong Province) have officially been revealed.
