On the afternoon of September 12, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front published more than 12,000 pages of statements of donations to people affected by recent storms and floods. The total amount of donations through the Vietcombank account of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front was VND527.8 billion as of 5:00 p.m. the same day.
Some viewers were surprised when they tried to search for their name and found 12,000 pages of statements. However, with just Ctrl + F, many people can look up based on the transfer content, transaction code, and account name.
Since the night of September 12, a series of celebrities, TikTokers, and KOLs have been accused of "fabricating" and falsifying the amount of money they have donated.
Among them, PVA - owner of the TikTok channel with 1.2 million followers - was discovered to have donated 1 million VND but posted a screenshot of a transfer of 20 million VND.
Having received a statement from the Central Committee of the Fatherland Front, PVA could not deny it and had to apologize. This person shared: "Because of my own thoughtlessness and incompetence, I edited it to share on social networks with an incorrect balance. This action of mine is condemnable and wrong."
A former athlete and TikToker was also named because the statement amount was only 500,000 VND, while his transfer bill had 8 zeros, equivalent to hundreds of millions.
Although she immediately explained, saying that someone had the same name or intentionally transferred the same content to bring her down, the online community all thought that this former athlete was making excuses.
A famous person on TikTok once caused a stir when he donated 30 billion VND, but when the online community looked it up, he actually only sent... 30 thousand VND.
TDA - a famous person in the field of electronic investment - once posted a transfer receipt of 100 million VND with the message "Giving is forever". However, he actually only gave away... 10 thousand VND, but edited it up to 100 million VND for "show".
Criticized by the online community for his deceitful actions, this person locked his personal page.
Many groups were also "exposed" for transferring a few hundred thousand but "exploded" up to tens, hundreds of millions of dong.
The "self-proclaimed" numbers are 10 times, even 100 times the amount in the statement of a series of famous people, making them "embarrassed", humiliated and receiving a lot of criticism.
The fan page supporting "Anh trai vu ngan cong gai" was also criticized for donating 200 thousand but announced the donation amount to be up to 20 million. Later, this fan group spoke up to apologize for being dishonest in donating to charity.
After the incident, actor Tien Luat also shared on his personal page that he was very saddened by the actions of this group of fans. "They did it without thinking. So many people did good things for the show. Now suddenly...", the actor said.
A Shark was also dragged into the incident, but soon after, this person posted a photo of a thank you letter from the Central Committee of the Fatherland Front to his family for donating 500 million VND.
At the same time, many Vietnamese artists were also "checked" by the online community, especially those who transferred large amounts of money and concealed the specific amount.
