As part of the program, King Charles chaired a meeting with the leaders of the Commonwealth, a voluntary organization of 56 countries, most of which are former British colonies. He also welcomed the prime ministers and royal representatives from the 14 countries in the Commonwealth realm of which he is head.
The coronation ceremony will officially begin at 10:20 a.m. on May 6 (local time, 4:20 p.m. in Vietnam). It will begin with a procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, 2 km away. Archbishop Justin Welby, leader of the Anglican Church, will conduct the ceremony from 12 p.m., lasting for 1 hour.
The ceremony was attended by about 2,300 people, from foreign leaders and royals to officials and representatives of civil society organizations. About 100 heads of state and government have confirmed their attendance, including royals from Europe to Asia.
