Officers and soldiers of Phong Hai Border Guard Station help re-roof houses for people

At 12 noon on the same day, a tornado occurred in Hai Dong residential group, Phong Quang ward, causing the roofs of 4 households in the area to be blown off. In order to help people stabilize their lives soon, Phong Hai Border Guard Station sent 20 officers and soldiers, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Phi Hung, station chief, to the area to help people re-roof their houses.

On the same day, Phong Hai Border Guard Station and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phong Phu Ward coordinated with the charity group Khong Trung Dao Trang & the Compassionate Light Club from Ho Chi Minh City to present 120 charity gifts to people in Giap Nam and Ke Mon residential areas, Phong Phu Ward, worth 24 million VND.

During the series of activities, the City Border Guard Training and Mobility Battalion sent nearly 60 officers and soldiers to participate in flood recovery in Kim Long ward, Huong Tho Secondary School and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.

Giving gifts to people after helping to repair houses with blown roofs

In Duong No ward, on the afternoon of October 30, local authorities also urgently coordinated with local forces to support people in overcoming the consequences of the tornado.

Previously, at 4 p.m. on October 29, a sudden tornado caused the roofs of many houses in different areas of Duong No ward to be blown off. Of which, Duong No Nam residential group had 5 households with their roofs blown off; Vong Tri had 1 household; Duong No Tay had 3 households; Phu Khe had 3 households and Cho No had 1 household. In addition, the tornado also blew off the roofs of Phu Duong Secondary School and Vocational College under the Ministry of Industry and Trade .

Immediately after the incident, the Duong No ward authorities mobilized militia, police, youth union members and local people to help households overcome the damage and stabilize their housing. Schools were also inspected and repaired damaged roofs to ensure safety for teaching and learning to resume. Currently, Duong No ward continues to count and assess the extent of damage, and coordinate with relevant units to have support plans for the people.
