Working in Thanh Thuy ward, the Standing member of the Secretariat shared that in recent days, many localities in the Central region have continuously suffered from prolonged heavy rains; floodwaters rose rapidly, landslides, deep flooding over large areas, traffic was cut off, causing serious damage to people and property. Hue city is one of the most severely affected localities.

Comrade Tran Cam Tu praised the efforts, urgent, drastic, dedicated and highly responsible participation of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, armed forces, officers, soldiers and people in proactively preventing, combating and minimizing the harmful effects of natural disasters. Many officers, soldiers and people did not fear danger, day and night staying at key points, supporting the evacuation of people, supplying food and medicine to deeply flooded and isolated areas, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and deep affection of the Vietnamese people.

Hue City Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung expressed his deep gratitude for the affection and special attention that Party and State leaders have given to Hue city in particular at a time when the locality is heavily affected by floods.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung said that in recent days, with the timely direction of the Central Government, the drastic participation of the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee and functional forces, Hue has proactively deployed many measures to respond, provide relief and overcome the consequences of natural disasters. "Up to now, the situation has been basically controlled, but people's lives still face many difficulties that need continued attention and support," said Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Trung affirmed that the city will seriously accept the direction of the Standing Secretariat, continue to focus on overcoming the consequences, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property, and not let anyone suffer from hunger, cold, or lack of safe housing. At the same time, Hue will closely coordinate with ministries and branches to speed up projects to relocate people in landslide areas, invest in infrastructure to prevent natural disasters and restore production after floods.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has supported Hue with 5 billion VND to overcome floods.

Previously, comrade Tran Cam Tu and the delegation visited Hue Central Hospital, which is being affected by floods. Here, the delegation listened to the hospital leaders report on the response situation, ensuring the safety of patients, facilities and medical equipment in the prolonged flooding conditions.

The delegation directly visited and presented gifts to 20 patients who had to be evacuated from the first floor to the hospital hall due to the impact of floods and rains, and encouraged the medical staff to make efforts to overcome difficulties, maintain medical examination and treatment work, and ensure health care for the people.

Next, the delegation visited the family of Ms. Vu Thi Hong Hue (born in 1949, a war invalid, a resistance activist infected with toxic chemicals) at 26 Nguyen Thien Ke, Thuan Hoa ward - one of the policy households affected by floods.

Here, comrade Tran Cam Tu kindly inquired about health, encouraged the family to overcome difficulties, stabilize life; at the same time requested the local government to continue to pay attention to supporting policy households, poor households, and households with special circumstances in flooded areas.
