Mai Thanh Ha launches podcast about the hidden life of female filmmakers

The idea for this podcast series was conceived by actress Mai Thanh Ha after founding Mai Films Company and organizing workshops on Vietnamese films with the participation of many directors and screenwriters.

Mai Thanh Ha said: “When organizing film workshops, I met many people in the profession, so I wanted to create the Mai Lam Film podcast series so that the audience can learn more about the world of filmmaking, so that everyone can understand more deeply about Vietnamese cinema. And season 1 of the Mai Lam Film podcast series features famous female directors, screenwriters, and actors to talk about the topic of Women Making Films ."

In the series Mai makes films , Mai Thanh Ha takes on the role of host and guests share about the profession of director, screenwriter or actor, the hidden corners of the film industry, and even the difficult things to say when women have to struggle on set...; at the same time, each episode also inspires the audience, through the journey of others to draw useful lessons for themselves.

"I have been quiet for a while but have not retreated into seclusion, but have been developing both acting and production in parallel. When I embarked on my passion for cinema, I also encountered many difficulties, so I understand the hardships that women have to sacrifice when pursuing their passion. Women who make films often have problems with health, beauty, and balancing personal life and work. Their physical condition may not be as good as men's, and being busy outside also has a significant impact on their family life, relationships, and friends. However, above all, when it comes to passion and dedication, women are not inferior to men," Mai Thanh Ha said.

Since Covid-19, Mai Thanh Ha has nurtured her passion for acting by spending a lot of time studying and researching, learning more about cinema in the stages of screenwriting, editing, production..., at the same time she also had many opportunities to interact with experts and lecturers from the US, Japan, Korea, China. Recently, Mai Thanh Ha has also built a personal channel on YouTube, TikTok, sharing secrets about coordinating costumes, etiquette, fashion , cinema... receiving positive feedback from the audience with "million-view" clips.
