The Vietnamese fighter proactively slowed down the pace in round 2, seizing the opportunity to land powerful punches that tore Jia Yangin's eyelid. Taking the initiative, Trong Vinh pressed down on his opponent and launched a continuous ground and pound combo that caused Jia Yangin's face to swell. Despite not being able to knock out his opponent, Mui Trong Vinh still received a points victory from the judges, helping him to have his first win at the prestigious AFC MMA tournament.
