The road surface of National Highway 14B through Hoa Nhon, Hoa Phong and Hoa Khuong communes (Hoa Vang district) has many potholes. The road surface is uneven, many sections have peeled off the asphalt, exposing the rock layer underneath. When it rains, water accumulates in large puddles, making it difficult and dangerous for people to move around.

The bumpy road surface makes it difficult for people and vehicles to move around.

According to people living on Highway 14B, every time they pass this section of road, it is like going through an obstacle course. Motorbikes have to swerve to avoid potholes, which can easily cause them to slip and fall, not to mention that they cannot react in time when trucks rush by.

Mr. Nguyen Viet (resident of Hoa Khuong commune) said: "Driving on this road must keep an eye out to avoid potholes, but sometimes it is impossible to avoid them all, the wheel falls into a deep hole, which is very dangerous. There are many cases of falling in the middle of the road because of driving on a damaged section. I hope the government will quickly repair it so that people can travel safely."

National Highway 14B through Hoa Vang district is a vital traffic route, so the volume of vehicles passing through here is very large, especially heavy trucks that travel regularly. In addition, continuous rain in recent times has also caused the road surface to quickly deteriorate.

Many roads are badly damaged and the soil and rocks are jagged.

According to the leader of Hoa Khuong Commune People's Committee, the road surface of National Highway 14B has been damaged after the rain that has lasted for many days. The commune has sent its opinion to the City Department of Transport, and the representative of the Department said that they will repair and fill the potholes on National Highway 14B when the rain stops.

The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 14B through Da Nang was started in November 2023 and was approved by the Ministry of Transport with a total investment of more than 788 billion VND. The project has a starting point in Hoa Nhon commune and an ending point in Hoa Khuong commune (Hoa Vang district) with a total route length of 7.58 km. This project is currently being implemented on the scale of an urban main road, including 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for rudimentary vehicles.

To date, the site clearance work has been completed with nearly 80% of the compensation documents approved. Regarding construction, the bridge, culvert, and road surface items are being implemented synchronously, although the construction progress is still slow in some sections due to lack of personnel and equipment. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
