Mazda EZ-60 "sold out", sold more than 10,000 cars in just 48 hours

The new 2026 Mazda EZ-60 is based on Changan's EPA platform – which is also used for the Deepal S07. The car is currently available in two versions using electric motors.

The range-extended version combines a 72 kW 1.5-litre engine (generator only) with a 190 kW electric motor and a 31.73 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack, allowing for a pure electric range of 160 km.

Details of the all -electric Mazda EZ-60 have not been released, but initial figures suggest it will have a competitive range. The EZ-60's interior is designed in a modern digital direction, featuring a 26.45-inch 5K ultra-wide screen with integrated digital dashboard.

Central entertainment system and air conditioning control. The physical buttons are minimized, prioritizing touch operations and voice control. The rear seats are also equipped with separate screens to adjust utilities and entertainment. In addition, the car also has the option of a Dolby Atmos surround sound system with 23 speakers, 7.1.4 standard.

The Mazda EZ-60's luggage compartment has a standard capacity of 350 liters, which can be expanded to 2,036 liters when the rear seats are folded. The pure electric version is also equipped with a 126-liter front trunk. The car also has many small storage compartments throughout the interior, meeting daily needs.

In terms of overall dimensions, the Mazda EZ-60 is 4,850 mm long, 1,935 mm wide, 1,620 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,902 mm. The exterior impresses with its slim LED daytime running lights, closed grille, and steeply sloping rear end, combined with a horizontal taillight strip running across the body.

In terms of safety, the EZ-60 comes standard with nine airbags and a Level 2 (L2) semi-autonomous driving assistance system, powered by five HD cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. The battery safety system – developed with CATL and CALB – incorporates eight layers of protection, meeting or exceeding China’s new battery safety standards expected to be implemented from 2026.

According to information from Changan Mazda, the price of the Mazda EZ-60 is expected to be officially launched in the Chinese market next August.

The positive market response shows that Mazda is trying to regain growth momentum in the highly competitive electric vehicle segment in China. In addition to the EZ-60, the joint venture is also developing two new electric models, promising long-term progress in the future if the favorable initial momentum is maintained through to the mass production stage.
