France striker Kylian Mbappe is proud of the huge amount of money he earns from football and revealed that his mother forced him to clean the classroom when he was a child.
"When I was 12 years old, I knew that football could make a lot of money. I deserved the money I made. I didn't steal from anyone. That's how the world works. I always believed that I could succeed and become a world-class star," Mbappe told Envoye Special .
At 24, Mbappe is one of the highest-paid players in the world. Last year, he ranked third in Forbes ' list of highest-paid athletes, behind only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Specifically, the French player pocketed $120 million in one year, with $100 million from his contract with PSG and $20 million from outside advertising income. In addition, Mbappe has huge sponsorship contracts with sportswear company Nike and watch company Hublot. In 2020, he was put on the cover of the famous game FIFA 21 by EA Sports. Mbappe is the youngest player to appear alone on the cover of this game.

Mbappe's success has been largely attributed to his mother, Fayza Lamari. The French captain revealed that his mother once made him clean the classroom during the week he was invited to visit Real Madrid's club without understanding why.
"My mother took me to class and made me clean. That was the week I was invited by Real Madrid to visit the club for four days," Mbappe recalled. "I saw all the stars and the facilities of the club. Then I was made to clean for three days. Now I don't think it was that bad. But at the time, I didn't understand why I had to do it. I had to stay calm."
The 24-year-old striker also shared his memories of winning the 2018 World Cup with France, saying he was not "overjoyed to the point of going crazy". For the 2022 World Cup, Mbappe said it was just another step on the journey to glory. The PSG striker said he would have traded his goals for France to beat Argentina in the final.
Mbappe has never spoken about his intention to play in the Olympics - a tournament he has not participated in despite being a star at the age of 17. But in this interview, the 24-year-old striker expressed his desire to play in the Olympics under the condition that his club allows it.
