(NLDO) - A representative of Urban Railway Company No. 1 said that a metro train had just had an incident at Ba Son station.
On the evening of December 26, train number 1700 of metro line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) encountered a technical problem at Ba Son station, causing temporary interruption in operation.
As of 4:00 p.m. on December 26, metro line 1 has transported 37,000 passengers today.
According to information from Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1), the incident was determined to be due to a signal error during the train control system inspection. At 6:30 p.m., when the train stopped at Ba Son station, the operating department discovered that some signal details did not comply with operating procedures and technical instructions.
To ensure absolute safety for passengers, the operator consulted with the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway (MAUR) and coordinated with the contractor HITACHI to conduct inspection and assessment. After more than 10 minutes of thorough inspection, the relevant units decided to allow the train to continue operating.
MAUR representative emphasized that in the initial phase of putting metro line 1 into operation, all technical errors will be controlled and promptly resolved to ensure maximum safety for passengers and vehicles. HURC1 also said that it will continue to closely coordinate with contractor HITACHI to improve operational quality in the coming time.
The operating unit expressed its hope that passengers would sympathize and share in the initial service phase, affirming that it always puts the safety and convenience of passengers first.
The entire operation process is closely monitored by HURC1 and the Management Board. Corrective measures and continuous assessments are carried out to ensure maximum safety for passengers and vehicles.
