With the spirit of "When people need us, we go", right after the flood receded and the roads were cleared, the Nghe An Electronics and Refrigeration Association mobilized 100 technicians from inside and outside the province, loaded trucks and 7-seat cars with professional equipment and components, and immediately set off for mountainous districts such as Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, and Ky Son. Although they knew in advance the hardships that awaited them, for them, helping people quickly overcome the consequences of the flood and stabilize their lives was a responsibility that could not be delayed.
“We are implementing this free repair campaign within 1 week, everyone is arranging their housework, even temporarily stopping their business and services to participate. The flood has taken too much from the people, we want to do the most practical thing to support them”, Mr. Nguyen Trong Anh - Chairman of the Association, head of the delegation shared.

To promptly support people, free reception and repair points have been established at Con Cuong Continuing Education Center; Tam Quang 1 Primary School (formerly Tuong Duong district); Thach Giam Commune People's Committee; Cua Rao Primary School... It is expected that repair points in localities of the former Ky Son district will be opened in the coming days.
To let people know about this activity, the Association posted a notice on social networking sites with a simple message: "If you have electrical appliances that are flooded, when there is electricity, please keep them unplugged and bring them to the repair point so we can help you." The notice quickly spread widely, like a small fire warming people in flooded areas.

Every day, repair shops receive hundreds of devices, from rice cookers, fans, televisions, to refrigerators, washing machines... all covered in mud, water seeping into every electrical circuit, requiring meticulousness, perseverance and precision to every detail.
The technicians started work at 7am, took a quick 30-minute lunch break, and continued working hard until night. Although they had to eat and sleep at the repair site, everyone encouraged each other to do their best for the people.
“Repairing electronic devices after a flood is not simply a matter of plugging them back in. Dirt and mud stick to the components, many devices short-circuit and burn, forcing us to disassemble, clean every detail, and even replace components. This takes a lot of effort and time,” said Nguyen Trong Anh.

Not only do they provide free repairs, they also call on material businesses to support replacement parts worth nearly 30 million VND, helping people not to spend any additional costs during this difficult time.
During the days of the free repair point in the old Con Cuong district, the image of people carrying old, muddy household electrical appliances to ask for support was not uncommon. Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, a resident of Con Cuong commune, was one of the first households to arrive at the repair point with a rice cooker, fan and refrigerator submerged in water after the flood.

Holding in his hands the items that are very familiar in daily life, Mr. Phuc emotionally shared: “My house was deeply flooded, almost all of my assets were damaged. In the midst of hardship, my family is very grateful to receive free repair support from the electricians like this. Having a fan to cool down, a rice cooker to cook a decent meal for the whole family, nothing is more precious.” Mr. Phuc’s joy is also the common sentiment of many households here.
Behind every repaired device is a new hope. That is the motivation for electricians to continue working tirelessly from morning to night, despite the makeshift living conditions and the hard, tiring work.
Mr. Thai Doan Toan, a technician from the old Do Luong district, shared: “Seeing the scene of people losing their homes and being left empty-handed after the flood makes my heart ache. Although I have a lot of work at home, I want to contribute my small effort, hoping that people will soon stabilize their lives.”

In addition to providing repair support, technicians also take the opportunity to instruct people on how to preserve and use electrical equipment safely during the rainy and stormy season.
“Before the flood comes, people need to unplug all electrical appliances, raise important items such as washing machines, refrigerators, microwaves, televisions... After the flood, absolutely do not plug in the power immediately because the risk of electrical leakage is very high. It must be checked and cleaned thoroughly by a professional before being used again,” Mr. Nguyen Trong Anh advised.
