Da Nang Department of Tourism plans to open a tea tour on Ban Co peak like billionaire Bill Gates' experience next year to stimulate tourism in the city.
The Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, the unit assigned to organize the tour, said that after the billionaire's tea and sightseeing session, Bill Gates In March, Ban Co peak became more famous, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists. The billionaire's tea tasting "aroused curiosity", making many tourists want to have a similar experience, so the unit consulted the Department of Tourism to build a tea tasting tour.
During the tour, visitors will experience how the rich people of the past made and enjoyed tea; introduced to tea making tools, how to choose teapots, cups, water; how to brew, pour, and how to serve or enjoy tea under the guidance of the artisan.
Guests are arranged a private tea time with few people to fully experience and avoid affecting other visitors. This product is aimed at high-class guests who like to experience culture and tea ceremony.
The management board said it is developing a plan and seeking opinions from relevant agencies. "Once the policy is agreed upon, specific steps will be taken to form a tea tour," the board representative shared.
Tea culture has long existed in the history of Vietnamese tea - considered the cradle of world tea culture along with China, Japan, Sri Lanka. Vietnam has vast ancient tea forests in the provinces of Ha Giang, Son La, Yen Bai, Lai Chau, with tea trees 500-600 years old.

In March, billionaire Bill Gates and his girlfriend visited Da Nang and spent an evening on Ban Co Peak. The two spent about 10 minutes meditating with tea artisan Hoang Anh Suong before chatting about tea culture and the way Vietnamese people drink tea.
Ban Co Peak is 700 m above sea level, the highest point of Son Tra Peninsula and is considered the "roof" of Da Nang. From the top of the mountain, visitors can admire the panoramic view of the sea and Da Nang city. This is also a popular tourist attraction. The road to the top of the mountain is winding and curving, where visitors can experience the natural landscape of Son Tra Peninsula.
