MobiFone responds urgently to floods in the Central region, ensuring smooth information flow

In the last days of October, the Central region suffered from historic floods, severely affecting the lives of people in Hue City and Da Nang. In this situation, MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation urgently activated the natural disaster prevention and information response plan, mobilizing human resources and means to ensure the safety of telecommunications infrastructure and maintain smooth communication for people in the affected areas.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 2:00 a.m. on October 30, the flood level of Thu Bon River at Cau Lau station ( Da Nang City) rose to 5.62 m, 1.62 m above the third alarm level and about 0.12 m above the 1964 calendar level. The Vietnam Natural Disaster Monitoring System said that at 6:00 a.m. today, the flood level of Huong River at Kim Long (Hue) was 3.89 m, 0.39 m above the third alarm level, and Bo River at Phu Oc was 4.48 m, 0.02 m below the third alarm level.

Faced with the complicated developments of the floods, on the morning of October 28, the working group of the Flood and Storm Prevention Command of the MobiFone Network Center in the Central Region (TT MLMT) quickly moved from Da Nang to Hue to organize rescue, inspection, coordination and direction of communication assurance work in the area.

At the same time, the Center continues to closely coordinate with units to promptly handle points affected by signal loss, maintain network safety and quality to serve people in the area.

MobiFone continues to closely monitor the flood response in the Central region. In Hue and Da Nang, many MobiFone stores and branches have temporarily suspended operations due to deep flooding, but all employees have proactively placed assets, equipment, and documents high, ensuring the safety of people and property. The team of technicians, transaction officers, and logistics staff remain at the location, ready to coordinate rescue and restore services when weather conditions permit.

Along with infrastructure protection and information security, MobiFone also closely coordinates with authorities to proactively send warning messages and provide guidance on storm prevention, flash flood and flood response skills to people in high-risk areas, contributing to raising public awareness and minimizing risks and damage caused by natural disasters.

During the flood season, the work of updating, reporting the situation and directing response is carried out continuously, connecting smoothly between the Corporation and local units via the online system to ensure the fastest response to any unusual situations.

Up to now, MobiFone staff at hot spots are still working day and night to maintain safe connections, ensuring stable communication to serve the government, rescue forces and people in the storm and flood areas, effectively serving the management and command of functional agencies.
