Every year, 1.5 million units of blood are donated for emergency and treatment.

This is the biggest blood donation event after the Lunar New Year. This year's program started on February 18 and lasted for 8 consecutive days. Before the official opening, more than 2,500 units of blood were donated. It is expected that the organizers will receive at least 8,000 units of blood during the entire Spring Festival this year.

On this occasion, the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion inaugurated a fixed blood donation point at the Institute. Previously, there were two fixed points in Hanoi .

Currently, most of the blood for treatment comes from voluntary blood donations, thereby improving the quality of blood for treatment. On average, 1.5 million units of blood are received from voluntary blood donors each year, basically meeting the need for blood for treatment and emergency.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh, Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, said: "The Spring Festival is an occasion for those who attend not to ask for anything for themselves, but to come to give precious drops of blood - a part of life for the sick."
