92 girls from the Southern Women's Guerrilla Bloc successfully completed the parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. Many girls in their late teens and early twenties volunteered to put aside their studies to undertake this "once in a lifetime" mission.

4 months of hard training from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi to Dien Bien, the girls have so many memories.

During the hot days of early May, many families and children were always present to watch and cheer on the team as they practiced for hours, sometimes giving them drinks, cakes, etc., helping the 92 girls ease their homesickness.

After the May 7th parade, the girls from the South were able to visit historical sites in Dien Bien. They decided to save some of the cakes and milk from their food rations and asked the teachers and management staff for permission to give them to the children in the village after the celebration. This wish was immediately approved.

Before leaving for the South, the delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Command and officers and soldiers of the Southern Women's Guerrilla Bloc visited and gave gifts to families in difficult circumstances and students in Dien Bien Phu City.

Major General Tran Van Trai, Deputy Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, said that in order to help reduce difficulties for some poor families and students, the Ho Chi Minh City Command donated 10 million VND to support boarding schools in the area, each school and 60 gifts for families in difficult circumstances.

"Although the gift is small, it is the heart of all officers and soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh City Command's armed forces and officers and soldiers of the Southern Women's Guerrilla Bloc. We hope that the families will receive from us the feelings and gratitude of generations of officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army," said Major General Tran Van Trai.

After returning to Ho Chi Minh City, the female guerrillas will return to their previous lives and jobs.

Before the girls left for their assignment in March, Ho Chi Minh City leaders said they would be the core team participating in the 50th anniversary of national reunification next year. During the training sessions, the Ministry of National Defense leaders also noted creating conditions for female guerrillas who wish to continue participating in the parade and march to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification.
