According to the reporter's records, about 30 households at the foot of the Go Dua overpass were severely affected after the rain. In some places, the water reached up to the eaves of their houses, and people only had time to open the doors and escape.
Mr. Khai, a resident of the area, said that at around 6am, the heavy rain started pouring down, a flood of water rushed in, leaving no time to move any belongings, and the water level rose rapidly.
“This morning, while I was cleaning the house, a flood suddenly rushed into the house and blew all the doors open. I only had time to run out and didn’t have time to carry any more belongings. This is the first time the area has been flooded so badly. Now my clothes and household items are all wet and damaged,” Mr. Khai recounted, choking with emotion.
Similarly, Ms. Nhung's family was also suddenly flooded when there were about 8 people in the house, including small children.
“My family suffered the most damage this time. The previous times the water only flooded slightly and slowly, so we had time to move our belongings. Today, the rain was so heavy, the water flowed faster and stronger than ever before. When I discovered it, I only had time to hug my child and run out into the street. Now all our belongings are submerged in water,” Nhung cried.
On the same morning, leaders of Tam Binh Ward People's Committee and fire prevention and rescue forces were present to direct the troubleshooting, many pumps were used to pump water out of the area.
At more than 12 o'clock, flood water treatment work in the area was still being carried out.
