Journalist Katie Lockhart - travel writer for the Independent (UK) has suggested these 6 destinations based on criteria such as little-known but with many experiences such as bustling markets, rich cuisine , and pristine natural landscapes such as terraced fields and beaches.
These places are expected to give tourists a quiet experience, away from the noisy crowds without being boring.
According to journalist Katie Lockhart, the S-shaped country not only has many famous destinations such as Ha Long, Da Nang or Ha Giang, but also has many peaceful destinations with great potential for exploration .
Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai)
Instead of going to Ha Giang, a very famous land, tourists should go to Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai) - a land famous for terraced fields winding between the clouds, about 7 hours drive from Hanoi. This place has towering terraced fields "higher than any place in Bali" and ethnic minorities living. The best time for tourists to visit is September and October - when the ripe rice turns the hillsides yellow.
Da Lat (Lam Dong)

The dreamy highland city of Da Lat, with its cool, temperate climate and romantic hills, is an ideal destination for couples on their honeymoon. The green pine hills, colorful flower gardens and quiet space create a romantic setting for a sweet vacation.
When coming here, visitors can visit Crazy House, try a cup of butter coffee and Dalat pizza (grilled rice paper) at the night market.
Phong Nha (Quang Binh)

Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is a World Natural Heritage Site. It is also home to the world’s largest cave, Son Doong, and many other smaller caves, along with some of Asia’s oldest limestone mountains. This destination is a dream for those who love exploration and adventure. Visitors should avoid the rainy season from October to December if they want to have a perfect trip here.
Mui Ne (Binh Thuan)

Instead of going to Nha Trang, visitors should go further south to Mui Ne beach - an ideal weekend destination if visitors want to relax by the beach and enjoy fresh seafood. In addition to the beach, Mui Ne also has white and red sand dunes, visitors can ride ATVs or rent sandboards here.
Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh)

Located between Hoi An and Nha Trang, Quy Nhon is a quiet coastal resort with long, uncrowded beaches. Here, visitors can visit several Cham relics dating back to the 11th century, such as the Twin Towers and Banh It Towers.
Bai Tu Long (Quang Ninh)

Images of Ha Long Bay have appeared in many advertisements, so this destination is always crowded with tourists. Instead, try an overnight cruise in the less crowded Bai Tu Long Bay.
Visitors will still be able to float among towering limestone mountains, kayak on emerald waters and visit quiet fishing villages.
