DTO - Continuous rain in recent days has affected some newly planted rice fields in Tan Long commune, Thanh Binh district, forcing them to re-seed 2-3 times.

Although the 9 hectares of rice fields of Mr. Huynh Van Luc, residing in Thanh An Hamlet, Tan Long Commune, Thanh Binh District, had to be re-sown for the second time, the continuous rains over the past few days have continued to affect his rice fields. To limit the damage, the family proactively installed water pumps, but the water level outside the canal and in the fields is still very high. In addition to the affected rice, his family's 3 hectares of jackfruit trees that are bearing fruit were also flooded due to the continuous and prolonged rain.

Currently, in Thanh Binh district, there are 147 hectares of early winter-spring rice, mainly located in the dike area. In the current situation of continuous and prolonged rain and storms, the district's agricultural sector and localities have directed the Management Board of pumping stations to increase pumping and draining water continuously, in order to minimize damage caused by rain and storms.
