At the meeting to review the progress of the new Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - Coastal Road Project on March 31, the Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee expressed its strong determination to complete the project before July 1, 2025.
A positive signal is that site clearance work has been 100% completed, creating favorable conditions for contractors to focus on the construction phase.

The route has a total length of nearly 25km, passing through 5 districts of Nam Dinh province, divided into 3 sections with different construction progress. Section 1, from the starting point of the route to Lac Quan bridge, has completed about 65.7% of the work volume. Important items such as the National Highway 21B overpass and Kenh Gia bridge are being actively implemented, ensuring the set progress.
Section 2, from Lac Quan bridge to Km19+00, has achieved an impressive progress of 88.4%, with many items such as asphalt concrete and Lac Quan bridge completed. Section 3, from Km19+00 to the end of the route (intersection with the Coastal Road), has reached about 66.7% of the volume, with items such as So River bridge and weak soil treatment being prioritized.
Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Pham Dinh Nghi, highly appreciated the efforts of departments, branches and localities in site clearance, and requested relevant parties to coordinate closely to ensure construction progress. Contractors were required to increase human resources, equipment, and work overtime to meet the progress.

To achieve the goal of "finishing" on time, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province has made specific requests: Complete land handover procedures before May 1, 2025, finalize site clearance work before June 1, 2025, speed up bidding for tree planting packages on median strips, the Department of Construction updates construction material prices and the Department of Finance closely monitors payment progress.
The project is part of the traffic network planning of Nam Dinh province until 2040, with a vision to 2050. |
The new Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - Coastal Highway not only reduces the load on the current National Highway 21 but also opens up opportunities for socio -economic development for the coastal districts of the province. This project will promote trade, tourism and create more jobs for local people.
