Regarding the MTA child who was run over by a tractor in Nam Dinh, on May 5, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan visited the National Children's Hospital to visit the child and encourage his family.
The Minister directed the hospital to provide the best treatment for the child and said that he had asked the Nam Dinh Department of Health to coordinate with the province's authorities to urgently clarify the incident related to the reflection that "The hospital required enough money to provide emergency care for the child who was run over by a tractor" at Nam Dinh General Hospital on May 3.
Minister Dao Hong Lan directly asked the doctors and nurses of the Department of Surgical Resuscitation - National Children's Hospital about the health of patient MTA.
Reporting to Minister Dao Hong Lan, Associate Professor, Doctor Tran Minh Dien - Director of the National Children's Hospital - said that immediately after receiving the patient transferred from Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital on May 3, the doctors urgently ordered tests and CT scans to assess the condition.
The child was in a serious condition due to an accident involving a homemade tricycle running over him. Doctors performed emergency surgery that night.
"By the morning of May 5, the patient's condition had improved a lot. After a day on a ventilator, the child has now been weaned off the ventilator and is breathing on his own. The patient has passed the critical stage. We will do our best to provide the best treatment for the child," Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Dien affirmed.
Talking and encouraging the patient's parents, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan shared: We understand and share the family's concerns.

Minister Dao Hong Lan also informed about the reflection related to Nam Dinh General Hospital, immediately after receiving the information, the Minister requested the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management to send a document to the Director of Nam Dinh Department of Health to urgently direct the implementation of a number of contents such as: Reviewing the process of receiving and handling emergency care for child MTA at Nam Dinh General Hospital, comparing with the provisions of Article 44, Law on Medical Examination and Treatment No. 15/2023/QH15 and current regulations; strictly handling individuals and groups if violations of the above regulations are detected...
The head of the health sector affirmed: Currently, the Ministry of Health is focusing on renewing the spirit and attitude of serving the people, many criteria have been put forward to ensure people's satisfaction with the health sector.
"There have been regulations in the law and many directives and directions from the Ministry of Health up to now: Emergency and treatment for patients is always the top priority, no matter what the reason."
To ensure objectivity, Nam Dinh Department of Health invited PA03 - Nam Dinh Provincial Police to review all procedures for receiving and handling related to MTA's case.
The results will be reported to the Chairman of the Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Health for appropriate handling. The general spirit is that if there are violations, they will be strictly handled, Minister Dao Hong Lan informed./.
