A representative of Tu Ky Medical Center (Hai Phong City) said that a few days ago, the medical team of the unit successfully performed emergency surgery on a rare case of prepyloric gastric perforation for a 10th grade male student in the area.
Initial information, at 5:13 p.m. on October 31, male student NGH (15 years old, residing in Lac Phuong commune, Hai Phong city) was taken by his teacher to Tu Ky Medical Center in a state of severe pain in the epigastric region, vomiting, then pain spreading throughout the abdomen. When admitted to the hospital, the patient was conscious, with pink mucous membranes, pain throughout the abdomen, severe pain in the epigastric region, stiff abdomen, clear peritoneal sensation.
Afterwards, the patient was given tests, ultrasound, abdominal X-ray, and abdominal CT scan to detect a perforated hollow organ. The doctors held a consultation and explained to the patient and his family that the condition required emergency surgery.

During the surgery, the male student underwent laparoscopic surgery to suture the perforation in front of the pylorus, wash the abdomen, place an abdominal drain, and receive intravenous fluids and antibiotics. Currently, patient H. is awake, has pink mucous membranes, no fever, the surgical wound is dry, and has eaten porridge and drunk milk...
Assessing the case, Dr. Nguyen Hong Thien - Head of the Department of Surgery - Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Tu Ky Medical Center said that this is a rare case. However, parents should not be subjective in thinking that their children do not have gastric ulcers.
Doctors recommend: To prevent disease, parents should not put pressure on their children, let them be optimistic, comfortable and avoid staying up late. Train children to have reasonable eating habits, not to be too hungry or too full. Children should eat many meals a day, at certain times, need to eat slowly, chew thoroughly to be good for digestion. Limit eating fried, fried, grilled foods, salty foods, avoid using stimulants such as coffee, strong tea, alcoholic beverages.
Do not eat too sour, do not drink too cold or too hot, should eat soft, easy to digest foods, do not take drugs of unknown ingredients and origin. When having symptoms of prolonged abdominal pain, you need to see a doctor early, diagnose and treat promptly.
