2. How to use Acanthopanax leaves for good health

2.1 Color of drinking water

After pruning the young or healthy leaves of the Schefflera plant, you can use about 5-10g of fresh leaves (washed clean) and boil them with 300-500ml of water for about 10-15 minutes, then drink it like tea.

Effects: A decoction of Acanthopanax leaves has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, diuretic, and blood-activating effects, helping to improve blood circulation. It is suitable for people with bone and joint pain, muscle aches, heavy limbs, poor appetite, and poor blood circulation.

2.2 For external use – applying or rubbing crushed leaves helps relax muscles and tendons.

If you feel muscle soreness or stiffness (for example, after a long day at work or sitting for extended periods), you can take a few fresh leaves, wash them, crush them, place them in a thin cloth, and apply them to the sore area for about 10-15 minutes, or gently massage the affected area. You can also lightly roast the leaves with a little salt to warm them up before applying them as a compress to enhance the effect.

2.3 Prepare a bath or foot soak with the leaves to relax and warm the muscles and bones.

At the end of the day, you can put about 10-15g of fresh or dried Acanthopanax leaves into a pot of boiling water, simmer for a few minutes, then pour it into a basin to soak your feet or bathe for about 15-20 minutes.

Benefits: Bathing or soaking feet in Five-Leaf Ginseng leaves helps improve blood circulation in the feet, reducing fatigue and coldness.

2.4 Using Acanthopanax leaves as a pillow filling

After harvesting, the leaves of the Five-Leaf Ginseng plant can be washed, dried in the shade or gently dried at a moderate temperature, placed in a thin cloth bag, and sewn shut to make a pillow core. Other leaves such as mint, oregano, and flowers such as chrysanthemum or lavender can be added to enhance the aroma and effects.

Benefits: The leaves of the Five-Leaf Aralia contain many essential oils. When used in pillows, these oils are slowly released, creating a gentle, refreshing aroma that can help reduce stress and stabilize emotions. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Five-Leaf Aralia pillows also help dispel wind, relax muscles, and reduce neck and shoulder pain. They also have a calming and mild sedative effect, promoting sleep, especially for those who are tired, overworked, or suffer from headaches due to rheumatism.
