On November 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Nhuan Ward have officially launched the practice and participation in the program "Mass performance of Health Care for Community Health".
This program is in response to the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tradition Day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025), and is also one of the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Institute's establishment and development (December 24, 1975 - December 24, 2025).
The program will take place from 5:00 to 7:30 on November 16, at Phu Nhuan Stadium (HCMC).
During the launching ceremony, the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine guided people to practice warm-up movements and 7 main movements in a standing position, designed to suit the community, helping people to easily perform them every day for about 15 minutes.
These movements are based on the set of 63 health care movements in the work "Health Care Methods" by the late Minister of Health Nguyen Van Huong - the founder of the modern health care movement in Vietnam.

The set of movements is likened to a “body symphony”, simulating the natural, harmonious movements of the human body. Regular practice will help blood circulation, flexible joints, bring suppleness to the body and a relaxed, clear mind.
BSCKII Ho Van Han, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine, said that practicing health care is the most natural way to nourish health, strengthen the body, prevent diseases, treat chronic diseases, and live long and healthy.
"Through the Dong Do Duong Sinh program, we hope to spread the spirit of "Nourishing health together - Being healthy together", helping each person proactively exercise and improve physical and mental health", said Dr. Ho Van Han.
Within the framework of the program, the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine also coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Nhuan Ward to launch a campaign to contribute and support people affected by storms and floods through receiving accounts in accordance with regulations.
The performance program is held in the context that the health sector nationwide is actively implementing Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on a number of solutions to strengthen the protection, care and improvement of people's health.
The goal is to improve people's physical strength, intelligence, stature, and healthy life expectancy by 2030; the proportion of people regularly participating in physical activities will increase by 10%, the average life expectancy will reach 75.5 years, with a minimum healthy life expectancy of 68 years.
Also in an effort to realize Resolution 72-NQ/TW with practical actions, from November, the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine will organize free therapeutic health classes for Ho Chi Minh City residents.
