8th grade male student beats female classmate, police intervene

TPO - After a clip recording a male student repeatedly beating a female student in class went viral on social media, Cho Vam Commune Police, An Giang Province, stepped in to verify.

On October 9, the People's Committee of Cho Vam Commune, An Giang Province, provided information about a video circulating on social media recording a fight between students at Cho Vam Secondary School.

According to initial verification from the authorities, the incident occurred at around 9am on September 23, in classroom 8A5, the incident was filmed and spread on social media. The clip recorded the scene of a student being beaten (NTHT), two other students directly participating in the beating (NNA and NQĐ), one student filming the video (NPĐ.N), and one student lending his phone to a friend and participating in cheering (PHVP).

After the incident, the school’s Board of Directors invited the students and parents involved to work. The students admitted to beating their friend, which stemmed from personal conflicts between students in the same grade. The school asked the students to write a self-criticism, coordinate efforts to remove the clip from social networks, and handle it according to regulations.

After the incident, the parents of the students met and apologized to the families of the beaten students and pledged to educate and manage their children better. However, the victims' families have not agreed to reconciliation and have requested that the case be transferred to the authorities.

On October 8, the family of the beaten student reported the case to Cho Vam Commune Police. The police are currently investigating and clarifying the matter.

The school affirmed that it will closely coordinate with the authorities, strictly handle according to regulations and strengthen moral education and behavioral skills for students to prevent similar situations from happening in the school environment.
