As a typical educational unit of the district, in order to improve the quality of key education, in addition to promoting the emulation movement "Teach well, learn well", every year, the school sets out a methodical plan to train and develop students.

Teacher Dao Van Nam, Principal of the school, shared: With the motto "Maintaining quantity through quality", the school directs the application of active teaching techniques, focusing on students, and innovating professional activities in the direction of lesson research. Teachers are encouraged to write topics and initiatives on management and teaching, many of which are recognized as grassroots initiatives. During the school year, the school organizes teaching demonstrations to help teachers improve their professional qualifications. At the same time, each subject teacher is encouraged to build a knowledge topic with specific content, in order to improve the quality of the spearhead. In the 2022-2023 school year, at the Provincial Excellent Student Competition, the school had 94 students winning prizes, an increase of 12 prizes compared to the 2021-2022 school year; 34 students won prizes in the Vietnamese Math Olympiad and IOE National Competition for grades 8 and 9.

Mr. Khuc Huu Vinh, Principal of the school, informed: The school has 46 qualified and above-standard teachers, 32 teachers who are excellent at the district and provincial levels. In 2022-2023, the school will develop a student training plan, suitable for the needs of the department in terms of duration and time based on teacher registration for all grades in cultural subjects, building a team to participate in the district-level excellent student exchange competition. In particular, for grade 9, the school focuses on and pays attention to training the team to organize school-level competitions, register for district-level competitions and be selected to participate in provincial-level competitions. The school always arranges all training processes scientifically . Thanks to that, in the 2022-2023 school year, the school won 65 district-level excellent student awards and 16 provincial-level awards.

The bright spots from the schools have spread the learning movement, especially the key education, to the whole district. In the 2022-2023 school year, Mai Son district had 145/183 students winning prizes at the Provincial Excellent Secondary School Student Competition, an increase of 14 prizes compared to the 2021-2022 school year; at the high school level, 71/95 students won prizes; there was 1 project winning fourth prize in the Science and Technology Competition for high school students. This is the third consecutive year that Mai Son district has firmly maintained its position in the top three leading units in the province in the Provincial Excellent Student Competition.
