On the morning of November 7, Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade and the Fire Police Department - Vinh Long Provincial Police to organize a drill on chemical incident prevention and response combined with fire prevention and fighting (PCCC) in 2025.

Attending and directing the drill were Mr. Ho Van Tuan - Deputy Head of Industrial Management Department (Department of Industry and Trade); Mr. Nguyen Minh Chieu - Deputy Head of Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Vinh Long Provincial Police) and representatives of functional forces. On the side of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company, there were: Mr. Au Nguyen Dinh Thao - Deputy Director of the Company with the specialized fire prevention team and employees of related units participating.

According to the hypothetical situation, at 09:00, at the area containing NH₃ (Ammonia) chemicals, a gas leak occurred due to a storm causing an iron bar to fall on the operating NH₃ supply pipeline, causing two workers to suffocate from inhaling toxic gas. As soon as the incident was discovered, the Company's Fire Prevention and Rescue Command quickly mobilized forces, deployed measures to isolate the source of the leak, rescue victims, and handle the chemical leak incident.

Thanks to smooth coordination and compliance with procedures, after about 30 minutes, the incident was completely controlled, ensuring safety for people and equipment and not affecting the production activities of the Factory.

“Organizing regular drills is of practical significance in raising awareness, situation handling skills and coordination between forces when incidents occur. This is also an opportunity to check the status of equipment, warning systems and readiness of fire prevention and rescue forces, thereby proactively preventing and minimizing damage to people and property.”
He emphasized: "The success of the drill is the result of the close direction of the Department of Industry and Trade, the Fire Police Department ( Tra Vinh Provincial Police) and the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company."

After the drill, the units held a meeting to review experiences, evaluate processes, skills and response coordination plans. Thereby, contributing to improving the effectiveness of chemical safety, fire prevention and rescue work, while strengthening the coordination between the Company's fire prevention force and local professional forces.
The rehearsal ended in an urgent and serious atmosphere. The participating forces demonstrated a proactive spirit, smooth coordination and a high sense of responsibility, contributing to strengthening the safety culture in all activities of the Company.
