Raising awareness of environmental protection for businesses

Enterprises in the industrial park participate in training on skills to handle, prevent and respond to environmental incidents.

In the province, there are 4 industrial parks in operation, including Thuy Van, Trung Ha, Phu Ha, Cam Khe, attracting nearly 150 enterprises to invest and produce stably. Environmental protection work in industrial parks has recently had many positive changes, projects have all had their environmental impact assessment reports approved or environmental licenses granted before project construction, and have been granted component environmental licenses during operation. Environmental protection activities, application of renewable energy sources, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions have initially received attention from enterprises and are widely applied in many fields.

Comrade Le Trung Kien - Deputy Head of the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board said: "Propaganda and training to raise awareness of environmental protection for businesses, especially business leaders, are focused on to raise awareness of law compliance and limit violations in the environmental field. This activity also helps businesses build a systematic management system, meet technical standards, maintain stable and sustainable production".

Recognizing the role of the environment in workers' health and production efficiency, Tasa Group Joint Stock Company (Thuy Van Industrial Park, Viet Tri City) specializes in the production of ceramic tiles, investing relatively synchronously in facilities and constantly improving working conditions. Ms. Ta Thi Minh Thu - Chairwoman of the Company's Trade Union said: "In the production area, many waste classification bins are scientifically arranged by the Company, helping workers easily distinguish and properly handle hazardous waste and recyclable waste. In addition, industrial sanitation work is regularly deployed, ensuring that each area is always clean, limiting the risk of pollution and work accidents. The Company applies the 5S management method to contribute to creating a neat and tidy working environment, helping to raise awareness of workers and build a green, clean and safe working environment".

However, there are still limitations in the implementation of legal regulations on environmental resources by enterprises, such as: Some enterprises have not seriously implemented environmental protection work, causing dust and smoke, affecting surrounding enterprises. There are cases where enterprises do not make periodic environmental reports according to regulations; do not pre-treat wastewater generated according to the conditions in the agreement with the investor in the construction and business of industrial park infrastructure before connecting to the centralized wastewater collection and treatment system... In 2024, more than 10 enterprises in industrial parks were administratively sanctioned for environmental protection violations with a total fine of about 1.5 billion VND.

To improve the effectiveness of environmental protection in industrial zones, specialized agencies need to continue to strengthen guidance and support businesses to strictly implement legal regulations; continue to prioritize attracting investment in industries with high scientific and technological content and environmentally friendly. At the same time, promote the application of new models such as developing a circular economy , saving and recovering energy, recycling water and waste.
