Moving from primary to secondary school is an important turning point in a student's learning journey. This is not only a change in environment but also a change in thinking, learning methods and adaptive skills.

Recognizing that importance, right from the beginning of the second semester, Primary School 1 in Thach Ha town has focused on training skills and guiding students to get acquainted with learning methods at secondary school level.

Students of Primary School 1 in Thach Ha town have been equipped with listening skills and taking notes of the knowledge they have learned.

Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Tam - homeroom teacher of class 5A2, Primary School 1, Thach Ha town informed: "Recently, I have innovated the method of imparting knowledge to students. Instead of teaching and then reading for students to copy the main content of the lesson, now teachers play the role of "guides", helping students form the thinking and skills of listening to lectures and taking notes of core knowledge".

Nguyen Xuan Tan - class 5A2 said: "From the teacher's guidance in getting used to the learning method using mind maps and the process of listening to the teacher's lectures, up to now, I have formed the habit of listening to lectures, underlining, and taking notes of the main ideas. Thanks to that, remembering the core knowledge of the lesson becomes easier. In addition, I have also learned about the learning environment and teachers at secondary school through my seniors so that I am no longer confused when entering grade 6."

In the final weeks of the 2024-2025 school year, primary schools in the province are also planning for 5th grade students to visit secondary schools. Here, they will meet teachers, hear about the scale and classes of the school, and organize some activities in the classroom... This is also a way for students to get acquainted with the new environment, helping them to be more confident when entering secondary school.

To improve the quality of input for secondary education, the sector has focused on directing the Departments of Education and Training and primary schools to focus on training knowledge and skills for students from an early age. In general, basically, units and schools have proactively implemented positively to prepare students well for entering the new learning environment.

Regarding the enrollment of grade 6 in Ha Tinh, it is expected to be completed before June 15, earlier than last year to facilitate the units in the process of merging communes and wards. The enrollment is carried out by the selection method. In particular, secondary schools with the number of students registering to study exceeding the school's assigned quota will be implemented according to the criteria for assessing student capacity.
