The heat is intensifying in Northern and Central Vietnam, with temperatures exceeding 39 degrees Celsius in some areas.

According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, from June 17th to 18th, the Northern region will experience hot weather, with some areas experiencing it.

With typical maximum temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius, and in some places exceeding 37 degrees Celsius.

In the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen today and tomorrow (June 18th), there will be hot and intensely hot weather, with some areas experiencing exceptionally intense heat. The highest temperatures will generally range from 36-38 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius. The lowest relative humidity will generally be 50-65%.

Forecasts indicate that the heatwave in the Northern region is likely to last until around June 21st; in the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, the heatwave and intense heat will continue for several more days.

During hot days, in the late afternoon and evening, thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind are possible in Northern Vietnam and the mountainous areas of Central Vietnam.

Warning: Due to the influence of hot and intensely hot weather combined with low humidity and southwest winds causing a Foehn effect, there is a risk of explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased electricity demand, and a risk of forest fires.

In addition, hot weather can cause dehydration, exhaustion, and heatstroke in people who are exposed to high temperatures for extended periods.
