TTH.VN - According to the provincial Department of Fisheries on May 22, recently, the province has experienced hot weather alternating with rain in the late afternoon, causing continuous changes in water environment factors, causing disadvantages for aquaculture.
Water temperature tends to increase during the day but decreases sharply at night, creating a large difference. Temperatures at points along Tam Giang lagoon such as Quang Cong commune, Sia town (Quang Dien), Hai Duong commune , Huong Phong and Thuan An ward (Hue city) have values approaching and exceeding the allowable limit.
High temperatures will speed up the growth and decline of algae, making it easy for local organic pollution to occur and increase the amount of toxic gases in water; high temperatures affect respiration, increase metabolism (because aquatic animals are poikilothermic animals) and cause abnormal phenomena in farmed aquatic animals such as not eating, diseases...
The provincial Department of Fisheries recommends monitoring the weather and checking the environmental factors of the pond to have appropriate technical measures. Pay attention to the appropriate diet and diet according to the size and density of the farmed aquatic species, reduce 15 - 30% of the amount of food on hot days; periodically supplement vitamin C and trace minerals every 10 - 15 days; use digestive enzymes mixed into the feed for shrimp and fish, each time from 5 - 7 days to increase resistance; use biological products periodically every 10 - 15 days to treat the water and bottom of the pond.
To stabilize pH, you can use quicklime (CaCO3) or Dolomite lime. People need to spread lime around the pond bank or dig a ditch around the pond bank, spread lime into the ditch to prevent rainwater from carrying alum and dirt from the pond bank down, especially before stormy days. When using products, they must be on the list of products allowed for circulation, the amount used must follow the instructions of the manufacturer or technical staff.
