Solving family problems well also solves social problems well. Therefore, focusing on building happy families and promoting the educational role of families is to eliminate the difficulties and challenges that are negatively affecting and weakening families and weakening the driving force of development.

In recent years, the Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front and mass organizations of Cho Moi district, An Giang province have identified family building as one of the important contents. The achievements of family building have contributed positively to the socio-economic development, building and developing culture and people in the area.

In particular, through the movements, many typical and advanced individuals, groups and families have been recognized and rewarded. Up to now, the whole Cho Moi district has 130 sustainable family clubs; 102 groups for preventing and combating domestic violence, with 3,760 members; 39 trusted addresses; over 300 typical happy families...

Taking care of health to maintain a happy family, Mr. Le Phuoc Hoa, in My Thuan hamlet, My Hoi Dong commune, shared: "Only when we are healthy can we do business, develop the economy and build a happy family life. When the economy is stable, my family does not forget to actively support the locality in social work - charity, helping the poor". Mr. Ho Van Be Tu, living in An Binh hamlet, Hoa Binh commune, expressed: "The first goal is to enhance love for grandparents and parents, following the good example of harmony of the elderly in the family. It will not be happy if the family quarrels and disagrees, so understanding, sharing and sympathy are needed to maintain the family home".

In 2023, the entire Cho Moi district will have 331 typical happy families, over 75,300 cultural families (accounting for 88%), 100% of hamlets and villages will achieve cultural titles. To contribute to building happy families, each cadre, civil servant and public employee must set an example and mobilize people to actively participate in building a prosperous, happy, progressive and civilized family.

Nowadays, families are developing according to the criteria of equality, prosperity, progress, and happiness based on the implementation of gender equality and children's rights. The responsibility between men and women in taking care of the family is shared and respected, and they have the responsibility to take care of grandparents and elderly parents. Women participate in important family decisions and participate in political and social activities more and more.

However, in today's society, families face many challenges and difficulties. The negative side of the market economy and the pragmatic, selfish lifestyle that emphasizes individual freedom is strongly affecting traditional values ​​and good lifestyles in some families. Domestic violence is increasing. The gap between grandparents, parents and children is getting wider and wider. Faced with that situation, all levels, sectors, and People's Committees of communes and towns in the district need to raise awareness among cadres and people about the role and importance of family and family building in the new situation. Building a prosperous, progressive, happy, civilized family is one of the important contents; regularly lead, direct, promote the role and responsibility of leaders at all levels in family building. Continue to build and replicate typical cultural family models, disciplined, exemplary grandparents and parents, filial children and grandchildren, harmonious couples, united and loving siblings. Promote the role of the elderly in the family.
