(CLO) On December 26, the Russian Interior Ministry accused Ukrainian security agencies of being behind a series of 55 bomb and arson attacks targeting banks, post offices and police vehicles across Russia.
In a statement, the Russian Interior Ministry said it had arrested 44 suspects, including many elderly people and minors. According to the agency, the suspects were lured by the promise of "easy money". Those arrested could face up to 20 years in prison.

The Russian Interior Ministry accused: "The suspects received instructions from anonymous supervisors via phone or messaging applications. The Ukrainian security service was behind the organization of these illegal acts."
The Russian Interior Ministry has urged citizens to “be vigilant” and not to allow themselves to be “threatened or deceived.” According to the Russian Interior Ministry, a total of 55 violations of the law were recorded in various regions of the country between December 18 and December 26.
Since Russia launched its military campaign in Ukraine in 2022, the country has faced a wave of sabotage and small-scale attacks.
The Russian government continues to call on people to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities to prevent sabotage plots.
The latest Russian accusations come amid continuing tensions between Moscow and Kiev. The attacks, if confirmed to have been carried out by Ukrainian security services, would mark a new phase in a conflict that has lasted nearly three years.
