Secretly doing something that angered Israel, the US immediately calmed down

The US and Hamas have discussed the hostage issue but without the consent of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

According to Axios news site on March 7, in a phone call with US special envoy for Gaza hostages Adam Boehler, Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer expressed anger after learning about a meeting in Qatar between officials of President Donald Trump's administration and a high-ranking Hamas delegation, in which the possibility of releasing American hostages from Gaza was discussed.

Mr. Ron Dermer criticized the US for discussing with Hamas the number of Palestinian prisoners that Israel would release in exchange for five American hostages without the consent of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Meanwhile, US special envoy Boehler explained that the meeting was only an initial discussion with Hamas and no measures would be taken without Israel's approval.

On the same day, the news site ynetnews reported that Israel and the US are cooperating to collect evidence to support the accusations against members of the Hamas movement.

The two sides are preparing to ask a US court to grant them access to the servers of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and X. The goal is to recover images filmed by Hamas militants during the October 7, 2023 attack, but later deleted, to strengthen evidence in the cases under investigation.

Also on March 7, according to the Times of Israel , the US voiced its support for Israel's decision to block aid to Gaza, to prevent the risk of aid falling into the hands of Hamas.

"Aid can only be provided within a secure framework, so if we can't ensure the safety of anything moving into Gaza, then that cargo will be stopped," said US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce.
