On May 18, at the Embassy headquarters, the Vietnamese Embassy in Bulgaria solemnly held an incense offering ceremony and celebrated the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

Attending the event were Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, along with all officials and staff of the Embassy, representatives of leaders of Vietnamese associations in Bulgaria and some Bulgarian friends who love President Ho Chi Minh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet expressed her emotion, remembrance and deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - the great leader of the Vietnamese people, who devoted his entire life to the cause of national liberation and for the independence, freedom and happiness of the Vietnamese people.

The Ambassador emphasized that this year's celebration has a very special meaning when the whole country is filled with a proud and excited atmosphere celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; at the same time, it is an occasion to promote and honor the precious values of peace and progress, friendship and solidarity, especially in the context of the volatile international and regional situation.

Reviewing the highlights of President Ho Chi Minh's life and glorious career, the Ambassador emphasized that he was not only a great builder of peace for the Fatherland, but also a staunch revolutionary soldier, an outstanding culturalist, and an enthusiastic friend who always stood shoulder to shoulder in the struggle for the liberation of oppressed peoples around the world . President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style have always been the guiding principle for all actions of generations of Vietnamese people.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet reviewed the highlights of the life and glorious career of President Ho Chi Minh.

Referring to the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh was the one who laid the foundation and important historical milestones, the origin of the relationship between the two countries. President Ho Chi Minh's official visit to the People's Republic of Bulgaria in 1957 still leaves a deep impression in the memory of every Vietnamese and Bulgarian people about the warm welcome, noble sentiments and close friendship of the Bulgarian people for him and the Vietnamese people.

Taking to heart his teachings, the Vietnamese leaders and people always attach importance to preserving and promoting the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries to deepen and achieve practical results. In particular, in 2025, the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Embassy coordinated with the local authorities and the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria to organize many meaningful activities to honor the values and contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to the development of this good relationship.

The Ambassador believes that the above efforts are not only a responsibility and obligation but also demonstrate pride and respect for him, especially the common desire to preserve and promote the legacy of President Ho Chi Minh in his journey to find a way to save the country, to find loyal friends who share the same aspirations and support Vietnam's revolutionary cause, including Bulgaria.

On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet also sent greetings and best wishes to all Vietnamese people in Bulgaria and Bulgarian friends; affirmed that in her new position and responsibility, she will strive to promote and strengthen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries; wished that the community would increasingly mature, unite, bond and develop, continue to promote ideological values, study and follow the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh.

Also at the ceremony, delegates watched documentary films about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh; shared their feelings, thoughts, and recalled memories of President Ho Chi Minh's activities during his official friendship visit to Bulgaria (August 13-17, 1957).

Dr. Bac Cam Tien, who directly participated in the scientific project “Searching, collecting, preserving and conserving Ho Chi Minh’s heritage in Bulgaria”, shared some stories about the special friendship between President Ho Chi Minh and the leaders and people of Bulgaria. Even during his time working in the Communist International, he stood shoulder to shoulder with two Bulgarian revolutionary leaders, comrade Georgi Dimitrov and comrade Vasil Kolarov.

Mrs. Vasilka Nikiforova, who had the honor of holding flowers to present to Uncle Ho at Sofia airport in 1957, tearfully recalled: "Giving flowers to Uncle Ho, seeing his eyes and smile are the most sacred memories in my life."

Comrade Nguyen Van Tai, Party member of Cell 2, Party Committee in Bulgaria, shared his emotions about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh; affirmed that all cadres and Party members in the Party Committee in Bulgaria always strive to compete in responding to the movement of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Bulgaria, affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria is always proud of their ancestors' traditions, full of patriotism and aware of their responsibility to contribute to the cause of building their homeland; ready to join hands and coordinate with the Embassy to contribute to building a prosperous and prosperous Vietnam.

Chairman of the Vietnamese Youth Association in Bulgaria, Mr. Nguyen Vu Nam, on behalf of young Vietnamese people, affirmed that the second generation in Bulgaria will continue to promote the spirit of vanguard, learn from the moral example and style of Ho Chi Minh; and strive to contribute to brightening the image of the country and people of Vietnam in Bulgaria.
