Banking industry pioneers in building digital financial ecosystem

On May 26, the State Bank of Vietnam held a press conference to announce information about the digital transformation event of the banking industry in 2025.

The event is scheduled to take place on the afternoon of May 29 at the Government Office , with the theme "Smart digital ecosystem in the new era".

Speakers will discuss achievements in digital transformation of the banking industry, cashless payments; connecting, sharing open data and building an inter-industry data ecosystem; solutions towards building a smart, flexible and sustainable digital financial ecosystem, meeting the requirements of the new era.

Within the framework of the event, there is also an exhibition displaying products, services, and digital transformation applications in banking activities, with 19 booths of commercial banks, payment intermediary companies, digital transformation solution providers...

According to Ms. Le Thi Thuy Sen, Editor-in-Chief of Banking Times, this year's event has the theme "Smart digital ecosystem in the new era", clearly demonstrating the message that the banking industry takes people and businesses as the center of service, promotes the application of innovative products and services, develops a smart, interconnected and secure digital ecosystem, towards the goal of comprehensive, all-people digital transformation to accelerate and break through the development of the digital economy .

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Payment Department, State Bank of Vietnam, after 4 years of implementing Decision 810/QD-NHNN dated May 11, 2021 on the Digital Transformation Plan of the Banking Industry to 2025, with a vision to 2030, digital transformation activities in the banking industry have achieved encouraging results, contributing to the overall development of the economy.

Many basic operations have been 100% digitized, such as savings deposits, term deposits, opening and using payment accounts, opening bank cards, e-wallets, money transfers, loans, etc. Many credit institutions in Vietnam have a rate of over 90% of transactions conducted on digital channels. To date, more than 87% of Vietnamese adults have bank accounts, and non-cash payments have grown positively.
