The Department of Culture established a working group to 'block' commercial fraud and counterfeit goods.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism - Nguyen Van Hung signed a decision to establish a Working Group of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the peak of the fight to prevent and repel crimes of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

Accordingly, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism - Trinh Thi Thuy is the Head of the Working Group; Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library Nghiem Ha Hai is the Deputy Head; The Working Group has 16 other members who are leaders and representatives of leaders of a number of units of the Ministry.

The task force is responsible for: Directing, inspecting, and urging agencies to deploy and implement the peak of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights in the state management field of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The Minister requested relevant agencies and units to provide information on the situation and results in detecting, handling and preventing acts of taking advantage of cultural, artistic and advertising activities to facilitate counterfeit and pirated goods and violations of intellectual property rights; and documents on violations when necessary.

Report on the results of the implementation of the Official Dispatch and instructions of the Government, Prime Minister , National Steering Committee 389, and Minister on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods.

The working group is responsible to the Minister for performing the tasks specified in this Decision.

The working group works collectively, promoting the personal responsibility of the leader; members perform tasks part-time and are responsible for assigned tasks.

The Working Group is responsible for reporting to the Minister on the working status of the Working Group and reporting ad hoc at the request of the Minister.

Members of the Working Group are responsible for synthesizing and reporting results to the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library every week before 4:00 p.m. every Thursday and reporting the peak period before June 10, 2025; they are allowed to use their agency's seal when signing documents to perform assigned tasks.

The Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library is the standing agency of the Working Group; uses its apparatus to perform the tasks of assisting the Working Group; prepares reports, prepares documents, reports and drafts of conclusions of the Working Group meetings; synthesizes reports on the general activities of the Working Group and performs a number of other tasks assigned by the Head of the Working Group.

This Decision takes effect from the date of signing and promulgation, May 23, 2025. The Working Group will dissolve upon completion of its tasks.
