June 6, collecting opinions from Nong Son and Que Son voters on merging districts

According to the guidance of the Department of Home Affairs (the standing agency of the Steering Committee for the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in Quang Nam province), the two localities of Nong Son and Que Son organized to collect voters' opinions in the areas of commune-level administrative units under their management on the content of the draft project to merge Nong Son and Que Son districts.

After completing the consultation with voters, urgently direct the organization of a meeting of the People's Council at the commune level and before June 14, 2024, submit to the People's Council at the district level to pass a Resolution approving the policy of merging Nong Son and Que Son districts.

On that basis, synthesize and develop a report on the results of collecting voters' opinions and voting results of the People's Councils of communes and districts, and report to the Department of Home Affairs before June 18, 2024 for synthesis and reporting to the Provincial People's Committee.

To serve the purpose of collecting opinions from voters of the two districts, on June 1, the Department of Home Affairs organized to collect opinions from relevant sectors and localities on the draft project to merge Nong Son and Que Son districts for the consulting unit to study and complete.

Ms. Tran Thi Kim Hoa - Director of the Department of Home Affairs said that on June 3, 2024, the Department of Home Affairs will submit to the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee for comments, before sending the official draft content to the People's Committee of Nong Son and Que Son districts to organize a consultation with voters.

“The time for collecting voters’ opinions is set for June 6; the method of collecting opinions will be decided by the locality. However, the department encourages collecting voters’ opinions in the two districts in an enthusiastic spirit, creating a strong spread in the community at the grassroots level, like a widespread political activity. Thereby, voters will know their rights regarding the policy of arranging district-level administrative units in the province,” Ms. Hoa said.

According to Mr. Tran Phuong - Deputy Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Nong Son district, a week ago, the sector advised the Chairman of the District People's Committee to chair a conference inviting all key officials of communes, towns and related sectors to thoroughly grasp and implement the collection of voters' opinions on the draft project to arrange district-level administrative units.

Up to now, the preparation stages for collecting voters' opinions have been carried out carefully and closely, and experience has been gained through organizing the collection of voters' opinions in Que Loc and Son Vien communes on the content of the draft project to merge these two communes.

Nong Son district has 29 villages/residential groups. Accordingly, the district established 29 groups to collect voters' opinions. Propaganda work was proactive and proactive, relevant information was fully posted on the commune's electronic pages, media, zalo groups, and social networks.

“According to the review, the district has 7,877 households, with more than 22,000 voters. After understanding the situation, the localities have finished printing the ballots to collect voters' opinions, waiting for the province's seal to confirm and organize the collection of voters' opinions at the scheduled time" - Mr. Phuong said.
