The song "The Country is Full of Joy" was composed by the late musician Hoang Ha in boundless happiness when news of victory was constantly coming in, the country was about to be completely liberated. The song was born on the night of April 26, 1975 at his private home in Hanoi.

The first recording of the song "The Country is Full of Joy" performed by the late People's Artist Trung Kien.

The author's heart is fully expressed through joyful lyrics, expressing the desire to praise the heroic Fatherland: " The victory festival excites the country/ I want to fly up to see the majestic mountains and rivers/ I want to sing forever the praises of Vietnam/ The heroic Fatherland".

The song was then assigned to the Voice of Vietnam Radio Station to be recorded and performed by People's Artist Trung Kien for the first time with an orchestra. The song was also broadcast on Liberation Radio Station for the first time on the morning of May 1, 1975, along with the song "As if Uncle Ho were here on the great victory day" by musician Pham Tuyen.

During his lifetime, People's Artist Trung Kien said that when he received the song and made the first recording, he could not hide his excitement. He said that the generation of musicians and singers at that time worked in the urgent atmosphere of war, everything happened very quickly. Musicians composed almost immediately when the emotion came, and singers also had to go on the radio to sing as soon as they received the song.

People's Artist Trung Kien only had 1-2 hours from receiving the song to singing it on the Voice of Vietnam radio. The recording was done very quickly, without time to prepare carefully or "ponder and ponder" like the way music is made later.

It was in that urgent situation that emotions surged more strongly than ever. People's Artist Trung Kien shared: " As soon as I received the song "The Country Full of Joy" by musician Hoang Ha, I had to sing it right away... The first time I sang "The Country Full of Joy" I was extremely moved."

He described the song's melody at that time as "joyful, heroic, and full of spirit", blending with the "boiling, determined-to-win" atmosphere of the final days of the war, when "news of victory was reported every hour".

"The melody of the song is cheerful, heroic, and full of spirit. At that moment, news of victory was reported every hour, blending in with the sacred atmosphere of victory of the country, I sang "The Country is Full of Joy" with strong emotions, mixed with many indescribable feelings..." - People's Artist Trung Kien recalled.

Later, People's Artist Trung Kien did not record this song again because he knew that the emotions of that historical moment could not be recreated. The above recording is the only recording of People's Artist Trung Kien kept in the tape archive of Voice of Vietnam Radio.

The country is full of joy through the voice of People's Artist Trung Kien, which has touched the hearts of many generations of audiences. He is widely loved by the public and voted as the most successful performer of this song. However, People's Artist Trung Kien always humbly affirms that he never dares to claim to be the most successful singer.

He once praised the young singers who sang this song later. However, he also pointed out the difference in emotions. According to People's Artist Trung Kien, only those who directly witnessed the moment when the country "exploded in the joy of victory" in those days could "absorb" the melody and lyrics of the song most completely. Even he himself, later on, could not sing the song with the same emotions as the first time. "My emotions were different. Singing on the day of victory is something special..." , he once confided.

After People's Artist Trung Kien, People's Artist Ta Minh Tam also performed this song quite successfully. People's Artist Ta Minh Tam once shared: "When People's Artist Trung Kien performed this song in 1975, when the country was newly liberated, the feeling was strange and formed a spirit, lively in the changing circumstances of the country. The joy and special emotions of the Vietnamese people expressed in "The Country Full of Joy" are not easy to find again.

Nowadays, emotions are deeper, more profound and more experienced in the singing process. The feeling now is to reminisce and praise the development of the country.
