Transfer of work to Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine

On May 12, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee announced the decision to assign and arrange work for Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hiep - Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the School Council, Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine to take up the task and work at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health .

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hiep's specific tasks were assigned by the Director of the Department of Health.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also decided to discipline Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hiep with a warning, based on Clause 2, Article 1, Decree 71/2023/ND-CP.

This Decision takes effect from the date Decision No. 658-QD/UBKTTU dated April 3, 2025 of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Commission takes effect.

Previously, on April 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee reviewed and issued a disciplinary warning to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hiep - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the University Council, and Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.

According to the conclusion, Mr. Hiep is jointly responsible for the shortcomings and violations of the School Party Committee during the period of 2022 - 2024. Mr. Hiep was personally determined to have lacked responsibility in implementing the Party Committee's resolutions and violated the principles in the appointment and reappointment of management officials.

In addition, Mr. Hiep was also accused of being irresponsible in implementing working regulations and the principle of democratic centralism, organizing working groups with incorrect composition and incorrect job requirements. Inspection and supervision work was lax, leading to many party members and employees violating the law.

The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee determined that Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hiep's violations caused negative public opinion, reducing the prestige of the Party Committee and himself at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.

Assigning personnel to perform duties of Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine

On May 12, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan signed a decision assigning Mr. Nguyen Dang Thoai, Vice Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, to be in charge of leading, managing, and operating the school's activities, including financial transactions and duties of the Principal.

Mr. Thoai is assigned to the task until the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has a decision to officially appoint the Principal according to regulations. The decision takes effect from the date of signing.
