This year's exam had a total of 5,709 candidates participating, while the quota was 320 students, equivalent to a competition ratio of 1/18. |
Previously, on May 28, the Admissions Council sent registration number information and instructions on the competency assessment test (ĐGNL) to each candidate. This included detailed instructions for candidates to get to the competency assessment point, as well as instructions on the time and regulations while taking the test.
Students with many achievements will have their incentive points added to their competency assessment score if the achievements are in different fields (total incentive points not exceeding 3.0 points/student).

Dr. Pham Si Cuong, Principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School |
Sharing with reporters, Dr. Pham Si Cuong, Principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School (under Hanoi National University of Education) said that the school's viewpoint reminded from the Steering Committee that the students are very young, many of them are participating in a competition like this for the first time, so the school pays attention to every smallest detail.
"We remind teachers to be affectionate and avoid making students panic. Before, during and after the competition, students must be guided carefully and attentively.
Fearing that many students have not had breakfast, the school prepared extra milk and bread so that students in need can be given them immediately," said Mr. Cuong.
According to the school principal, other competitions may not have an ambulance, but for this particular competition, the school requested an additional ambulance and two medical staff on duty to be ready to assist when needed.
Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School is a rare school in Hanoi that does not consider transcripts in the 6th grade entrance exam this year.
The school uses the National High School Entrance Exam for admission. The exam is written with 3 subjects: Math, Vietnamese and English.
The tests combine objective and essay questions. The test content is mainly based on the 5th grade curriculum. The test time for Math and Vietnamese is 45 minutes, and for English is 30 minutes.
