Fishermen voluntarily surrender their weapons

The Waterway Police Team (CSDT), Traffic Police Department (CSGT), (Provincial Police) has just received an air gun voluntarily handed over by a fisherman.

Mr. Nguyen Van Kim handed over the air rifle to the task force, Criminal Investigation Team, Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police).

At 3 PM on September 5th, Mr. Nguyen Van Kim (born in 1971, residing in Nam Dinh province) came to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Team, Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) to surrender an air rifle. Mr. Kim stated that he had discovered the rifle while anchoring his vessel in Ha Long Bay when the tide was low. Having been informed by authorities about the legal regulations regarding weapons, explosives, support tools, and fireworks, he voluntarily surrendered the weapon.

Thanks to public awareness campaigns, many crew members and fishermen have recently come to the Criminal Investigation Team, Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) to surrender weapons and supporting tools.

Possessing weapons, explosives, and supporting tools is a violation of the law. Recently, along with patrolling, controlling, and ensuring security and traffic safety on the route, the Criminal Investigation Team of the Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) has actively propagated information on drug prevention, legal regulations on ensuring traffic safety, weapons, explosives, and supporting tools… As a result, many citizens and fishermen have proactively and voluntarily surrendered weapons, explosives, supporting tools, and fireworks; contributing to preventing and avoiding illegal activities from afar and early on.
