In 2022, after a long time living and working in Binh Phuoc province, Mr. Minh returned to his hometown and started his role as Secretary of the Party Cell of Ward 5. In March 2023, he was elected as Ward Chief. Ward 5 has 254 households with about 1,020 people, the economic life of the people is mainly small-scale service business, a part of agricultural production combined with livestock and poultry farming.

In recent years, the volatile socio-economic situation has directly affected local activities, leading to difficulties in people's lives. In such conditions, when starting to perform the duties of a Party cell secretary and neighborhood chief, Mr. Minh encountered many difficulties.

However, with a sense of responsibility and dedication to work, he always worries and thinks about ways to do things, specific and practical solutions to advise local authorities and leaders to build civilized neighborhoods.

“Ward 5 started building a model ward towards the goal of a civilized urban area with a low starting point; the effectiveness of some movements was still weak and formalistic, and cultural institutions serving the people were not commensurate with the standards of a civilized urban area.

Determining that to achieve the set goals, I need to pay special attention to social security work, I spent a lot of time "going to every alley, knocking on every door" to grasp the thoughts, aspirations and arising problems. From there, I proposed and recommended to the local Party Committee and government solutions to support and help people, especially for policy families and poor households," Minh recounted.

After grasping the situation, Mr. Minh proactively organized meetings with residents, discussed and agreed on mobilizing resources to carry out activities, completing the goal of reaching the model neighborhood finish line before August 2024.

With the motto of doing easy things first, difficult things later, he first built a great solidarity bloc by focusing on maintaining sports activities such as football, volleyball, folk dancing..., creating a playground for people to practice sports, thereby promoting the spirit of solidarity and community cohesion. Thanks to that, when implementing movements and activities, everyone responded enthusiastically, creating high unity. Many cadres and people in the neighborhood also praised and evaluated Mr. Minh as a cadre who "talks and acts".

In the period of 2022 - 2024, the leadership in implementing the construction of civilized urban areas in Ward 5 has always been interested and achieved many results. Notably, Mr. Minh has mobilized 8 households to donate land and assets on land to expand roads; mobilized people to contribute over 370 million VND to complete projects such as the ward cultural house and build safe, clean and beautiful roads.

Thanks to that, the appearance of the neighborhood is improved with a high-voltage lighting system, a system of shady trees to create beauty, the neighborhood also has a playground for children; the community learning center is equipped with TV, internet, sound system to ensure the information access needs of people when coming to meetings, studying, playing and serving the cultural and artistic needs of organizations.

People in the neighborhood always agree with local activities and have the spirit of joining hands to build the neighborhood to develop more and more, actively participating in environmental sanitation activities; 100% of households comply with annual tax and fund obligations; 100% of households register for waste collection...

In order to share with the disadvantaged, every year, Mr. Minh always pays attention to organizing visits, encouraging, and giving gifts to poor households, those in difficult circumstances, and families with meritorious services in the neighborhood. In 2022, he donated over 10 million VND to 2 households; mobilized 15 million VND in cash to support 50 poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households on the occasion of the traditional New Year.

In 2023, mobilize 7 million VND to support lonely elderly people. In 2024, organize house painting for 4 poor households with a budget of over 25 million VND. In particular, in implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025, Mr. Minh called for more than 100 million VND in support, mobilized people in the neighborhood to support labor and materials to build a new house for Ms. Le Thi Luong, a poor household or one who is often sick.

“Mr. Minh is a dedicated cadre with high spirit and responsibility, and has left many good impressions in the hearts of the people. As a core leader in the residential area, he is always dedicated to his work, proactive and creative in implementing activities and emulation movements in the locality.

With his dedication and efforts, for many years Mr. Minh has excellently completed his tasks and has been commended and rewarded by all levels. He is a worthy example that needs to be spread in the community," said Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gio Linh town, Le Anh Tuan.
