The photo series “Proud Hanoians on April 30” is like a vivid film, capturing every meaningful moment in the heart of the city, where the past and present blend together emotionally.
Throughout the streets of Hanoi, red flags with yellow stars flutter. Streets such as Dien Bien Phu, Ba Dinh, Trang Tien… were brightly decorated with banners and slogans promoting the historic victory of April 30. The streets were bright, exuding a solemn yet familiar and proud atmosphere. The Quyết Thắng Army Flag Group performed the sacred and special flag-raising ceremony at the historic Ba Dinh Square on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). In the sacred moment, when the melody of the "Marching Song" resounded majestically, without anyone telling them, the people present at Uncle Ho's Mausoleum and those passing by Hung Vuong Street quickly returned to their solemn standing position, facing the altar with a heart of respect, admiration and love! The red flag shirts with yellow stars stand out in the heart of the old town, expressing patriotism and joy of gathering. Members of the Thang Long Golden Dragon Club in Hanoi and veterans sang songs celebrating the country by Hoan Kiem Lake. Veteran Do Ba Quang, 75 years old from Ba Dinh district, proudly stands next to the national flag in joy to celebrate the Liberation Day of the South and National Reunification. Miniatures, information boards, and logos with simple, familiar, yet stylized and solemn drawings, expressing the heroic atmosphere of the nation's historical days, are displayed on many streets of the capital. Today's young generation in the capital learns about the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on the bulletin board of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper. The people of the capital are proud in their traditional ao dai with the red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland. Students in the capital are proud to learn about the heroic traditions of the Vietnamese people in the exhibition "A Country Full of Joy" celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) at the Ho Chi Minh Museum. "To join the national atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South on April 30, today my friends and I took advantage of the upcoming weekend to take photos to preserve this special moment with a photo album at Ba Dinh Square," Ms. Hoa from Cau Giay shared. Pride and joy on the anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and the reunification of the country of the women of the Capital.
