Vietnamese fans can watch the women's football team compete live at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup

Viewers and sports fans in Vietnam will be able to watch live matches at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, including matches of the Vietnam women's football team.

Vietnam has secured the television rights to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, which will take place from July 20 to August 20 in Australia and New Zealand. Accordingly, fans across the country will be able to watch live matches of the Vietnamese women's football team as well as the world's top women's football teams competing in the tournament on TV screens. The information was released on the morning of May 25 in Hanoi .

This is the first time the Vietnamese women's football team has officially qualified for a FIFA Women's World Cup. We are one of six women's football teams from Asia (along with China, Japan, Korea, Philippines, and Australia) to officially participate in the biggest women's football festival on the planet.

Regarding the copyright of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, we have VMG Media (VMG Media Joint Stock Company) which has the exclusive right to commercially exploit and distribute the broadcasting rights of the tournament in Vietnam on television systems, OTT, mobile networks, IPTV... It is known that fans in Vietnam will be able to watch the tournament on free and paid television media infrastructures on the ground, cable systems, satellites, internet, OTT, mobile, radio and public screening. It is known that Vietnam National Assembly Television is the unit that has the agreement to broadcast the matches of the Vietnam women's football team at the tournament.

At the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, the Vietnamese women's football team was drawn to compete in the group stage in Group E with the Netherlands, the United States and Portugal. Group E will be held in New Zealand. The United States women's football team is the current FIFA Women's World Cup champion, while the Netherlands women's team is the runner-up of the FIFA World Cup as well as the current European champion.

The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup has 32 teams that have qualified for the finals and are drawn into 8 groups of 4 teams each. The tournament has 64 matches.

Coach Mai Duc Chung expressed, “It is an honor and pride that for the first time in history, the name of the Vietnamese women's football team is listed among the 32 strongest teams in the world. Even more meaningful, in history, we are accompanied by our home fans through live television. Our greatest pride is that we will be able to sing the national anthem on the field of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023. We will definitely compete with the highest spirit of solidarity and determination”. Meanwhile, female player Huynh Nhu said, “We have resumed training and are determined to compete in the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup 2023. Recently, the team competed in the 32nd SEA Games and that was one of the very good professional preparations for each of our players to prepare for the tournament in Australia and New Zealand this time...”.

Last March in Hanoi, FIFA awarded Vietnam the honor of being one of the countries to launch the gold trophy of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

In June, the Vietnamese women's football team will train and play friendly matches in Europe (Germany), including 3 matches with the German women's football team and the Polish women's U23 team. After that, the Vietnamese women's football players will be arranged to travel early to New Zealand. In New Zealand, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will play friendly matches with the host team New Zealand and the Spanish team before officially competing in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
